The Evangelion Otaku Page: 2005 Edition - Version 1.0
I can't believe it - but in September of this year, which is still a ways away, but still, The Evangelion Otaku page will be on its 7th year in operation. Holy shit. How it's grown since then.. I can still remember sitting in my 8th grade class, telling Titus Prather - who was about the only kid in my class remotely into anime - about how badass it was and how he needed to see it.

Oh memories... I wonder what ever happened to Titus...

Anyway - I got off my ass and did another update that I think is *a lot* better than the last couple of tries. I've noticed I've used the same color schemes for most of EvaOtaku - red, white and black. I experimented with doing other color schemes but none of them ever fit in my opinion. So I always come back to them.

I think this update looks really nice and clean, simple but with the minimalist aesthetic that I prefer. I hope you guys feel the same.

I'm also putting the finishing touches on the EvaOtaku End of Evangelion Commentary Track - which will be available in .mp3 format, hopefully by the end of the week. I already had this done years ago - in 2002 - for the Manga Enterainment DVD. It was a last minute offer to Manga and Keith told me to go ahead and send it and they'd check it out. I don't know if it didn't get used because there wasn't enough time, they were unsure about rights and whatnot, or if it was because it quite frankly sucked. I was super rushed to get it to them ASAP, and it shows. Plus for some reason I sound *really* nervous on the tracks. If I'm in a self-loathing mood I'll upload the original versions too. But at the moment I'm just going back over it all and making it a hell of a lot better than it was before.

I kind of decided to redo them mostly because I enjoyed doing the Emulsion commentary - which is hidden somewhere on the Emulsion wesbite.

Lets see.. in 3 days I'll be on a 3 week vacation. At the end of these 3 weeks I'm intent on having at least 2 new short films to put online. Emulsion˛ (in time for the 1 year anniversary of the first oen) and Broken Water. A few weeks after that, Aristotle will come out.

Also, because of this 3 week break Kanzen Radio won't be updated for a week or two, but when it is updated we'll be doing double episodes to make up for it. That is, when we do get 111 up, 112 will be up at the same time, with 113 following on schedule the next week. One of them will be a video episode, as well.

So if you care about any of the Studio Kanzen endeavors, the next month will have a lot of new things to look forward to :)

Small, but...
Hilarity. I wonder when this will air in the US?

Oh wait. It won't. Because people don't have any sense of humor anymore :(

Of course, I can't think of any place this would run without controversy... probably why I think it's so wonderful :)

Volkswagon does some pretty kickass commericals. Anyone remember Da-Da-Da? Or the Jetta commercial with the Master Jung music and Sarah Clarke (Nina on 24, aka - Teh Hotness)?

TWoP Forums -> 4-5: "11:00 AM - 12:00 PM" 2005.01.17
So 24 continues to be the best TV show on currently. After each episode I always hit up some Forums to see what people thought. This line made me laugh.

"...Jack hasn't shot anyone in quite a while, I bet he's anxious to get his triggerin' on."

I'm sure he is. :)
