Harriet... Hairy... it.
So I've been super busy lately. The end of last month my cousins, Thomas, Katherine and Kevine, stayed with me at my apartment leading up to their brother's (my other cousin, Colin - of Menthol. That cousin.) wedding on September 3rd. We had a really, really, good time. The close quarters of my studio apartment made things very cozy, which got a bit... trying by the end... but overall it was a lot of fun and I enjoyed having them stay with me. Tom and Katherine are both over 21 so one night we ditched poor Kevin behind and went out to Excalibur and drank.. a lot. By the time we got home we were very drunk, woke up Kevin and forced him to go swimming with us.

I don't really remember much after that. The pool was incredibly cold - but I don't know if it felt that way cuz of the alcohol or what. Anyhow, we got back to my apt and the last thing I remember is passing out in my swimming tunks thinking "These are wet.. I need to change." But I never did. When I woke up in the morning, hung over, I was naked...

The wedding was beautiful but quite an adventure and if I wasn't lazy I'd recap why my cousin had to push a car in his tux before getting to the wedding, the bride freaking out waiting for him, my panic attack trying to figure out how to be an usher because of people telling me conflicting instructions, and so on and so forth. But, I am lazy.

Last weekend I visited Finiak at his school - Eastern IL Uni. I had a really good time, but poor Finiak had tonsilitus and couldn't speak. I don't really understand why he didn't tell me that before I got there so we could reschedule to a time he was - you know - healthy and not heavily medicated. The biggest drawback to Fin's condition was that he didn't drink at any of the gatherings. But I still had a good time, met some nice people (including his gf Stephanie) and in the end it was worth the 3.5 hr trip (I've got a bit of video, as per my Western voyage - but not as much).

Oh, I also saw The Brown Bunny. I have to say that I did like it - a lot. I wasn't expecting to, but in a weird way it was very hypnotic. The music and imagery (cinematography) is what really saves this film. Since so little "happens" for the first 85mins of this 95min film, if the movie didn't have strong visuals and music it would have been a very different film. I liked the sense of foreboding, the calm, slowness of the scenes - the grainy 70's style film stock, and the payoff at the end (which packs a real emotional punch).
