So, yesterday afternoon was Chicago's 35th Annual Gay Pride Parade. I went last year with Sarah, Stefin, Emily and Pat (not Purcell) and had a lot of fun, so going this year was planned long ago. Our group grew a bit this time around. Me, Sarah, Stefin, Collin (Stefin's boyfriend), Pat (not Purcell!) and Talitha.

It was fun, and the weather turned out great. But after about an hour and a half of the parade it started to drag on. Not to mention, these stupid fucking kids kept running out in front of the barricades (seperating the audience from the parade route) and grabbing all the stuff that was thrown to us. Part of the charm of this parade, imho, is the stuff that they hand out... candy, beads, mugs, stickers... and um.. lube and condoms. Pat, Sarah and I were screaming expletives (well, I think I was the only screaming expletives) at them and their useless parents. I'm entirely sick and tired of pre/early teen brats ruining my enjoyment of public events. Whether it be at a movie theater, concert or the parade - there always seem some parents that can't handle parenting their kids and keeping them in check. I'm tired of it. If they're not going to yell at their kids, I am.

So, with these kids intercepting all of our loot, I was very disappointed. But after the parade Sarah and I went treasure hunting and picked up a bunch of stuff left on the street. So I was happy again :P
