Forgot a couple pics -

Lola trying to cool down during a hot afternoon, smushed against the glass. My air conditioning wasn't working...

The ACen 2004 crew throwing up our official gang sign - The Shocker. David was taking the photo and fooled me with his flickering anti-red eye flash, which is why in the photo I am in the midst of De-Shocking.

(If you don't know what The Shocker is... you probably shouldn't know.)

I love this quote... via RyGil at the SPF..

I believe WWIII will occur between France and Switzerland.... with France immediately surrendering while Switzerland constantly declares they want no part in the war.

Awesome.

I'm so fucking tired. And I smoke too fucking much now. Christ...

GMail is awesome and I'm ever so happy that my continued Blog publishing allowed me to get an invitation to use the service, and get my address, before it was taken up. "bjamieson" isn't *that* popular - but it still was snatched up by Yahoo and Hotmail before I got it.. though if I had used that name in the VERY beginning at hotmail I'd have probably made it. Way back when I was like 13 and had my first email account, it was with Hotmail - but it was right before the height of my Eva fandom so I chose "eva4ever@hotmail.com"... *sigh*
1 4m teh l4m3r.

Speaking of GMail.. why the hell did it have to be called "gmail"? As David said, "It sounds like something 50 Cent would have made..." And it does, and that was the first thing I thought of when I saw "GMail" when it was announced... "Gangsta Mail? That's crazy man!"...

Still.. it's freaking awesome. 1000MB of storage, threaded messages.. the works. Yahoo! just bumped up their accounts to 100MB to combat this new competition, but that's still 10x less than Google, plus the interfact and message structure is still the same. So I am happy with the added space there, but not particularly impressed. It's pretty awesome to have 10MB of storage already in my account and see "1% Used" - whereas with my old UReach account I'd routinely be overstepping the 6MB quota and missing message. BAM! Take that! I'm still using the Ureach account for my EvaOtaku.com messages because having an email addy listed on a website is a great way to attract spam and virii - and I want to keep my gmail account as safe as possible from that.

Incidentally, I still have 3 invites left to use GMail. If you want one, drop me a line in whatever way is quickest...

Anyhow..

I love my summer class - Production 1. The teacher is really laid back and cool. I'm only shooting 2 films, and only 1 of them will I be able to make into anything substantial. Our first film is 3mins long and has to be shot during a class period - the second film however is 5-7 minutes and will be shot on our time and completely on our own. At the end of the semester the best films are submitted to the "Best of Production 1" screening and I *really* want to be part of that. So when it comes time, I'm going to put my all into it. I'm still grappling with ideas, however.

By the same token - I've finished 2 of 3 scripts for my upcoming series... Echoes. I want to shoot all of Episode 1 this weekend since it's mostly just using Pat and Stu, with new characters coming into Episodes 2 and 3. The "website" is up now - here. I want to have Episode 1 in July, Episode 2 in August and Episode 3 in September. After it's all out, and depending on how long the episodes turn out to be, I want to re-edit it into a "feature" version. But we'll see.... best laid plans. This series grew out of what was originally going to be a stand alone, 15-20min, short. But after having some people look at it, I decided to take the story in a completely different direction and expand on the characters and add a new dimension to the situation. Once it's completed I'll probably submit the original draft that this is based on to offer a different "vision" of it. Since Malaise is almost certainly not going to to be finished any time soon - or at all for that matter - a lot of the ideas that made up the Malaise story were put into this. Echoes may sort of be considered an abberviated version of Malaise, to some extent. Though it's more a matter of themes being transferred, rather than story.

For some reason, staying up all night long is really a big motivation and "inspiration" to do things. I wrote both episodes, thus far, of Echoes over night and also designed the Kanzen Radio page and the new Studio Kanzen pages during bouts of insomnia...

Oh yeah.. Kanzen Radio. Well, I don't know what's going on with that. I'm a bit perturbed when it comes to a co-host. David doesn't seem that interested, Finiak and I don't "click" in a way that's productive on radio.. and Pat isn't up to radio anymore it seems. Perhaps my original plan, Richard, is where it's headed... At any rate, I can more or less say that there will be NO radio until after Echoes kicks in... more or less. As with all my "creative" ventures though, things can change in a heartbeat.

May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.
And rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of His hand.
