Still, no surprises.
Grammar Fuhrer
You are the grammar Fuhrer. All bow to your
authority. You will crush all the inferior
people under the soles of your jackboots, and
any who question your motives will be
eliminated. Your punishment is being the bane
of every other person's existence, because
you're constantly contradicting stupidity.
Everyone will be gunning for you. Your dreams
of a master race of spellers and grammarians
frighten the masses. You must always watch your
back. If only your power could be used for good
instead of evil.

The long road down
Music: Happy End - Kaze Wo Atsumete (Lost In Translation soundtrack)
Mood: Tired, as always (not a mood - but I don't care)

Okay, so in the end my birthday wasn't really that bad. Especially since it's carrying into the weekend and such (having a bday on a monday isn't the best timing for college students, obviously).

When I got home Monday evening, I went out with my family for Japanese. I had udon with pork (I think..) instead of my usual tempura udon. It was good, but I think I'll stick with the tempura - cuz it's better. I also orderd a nice helping of sake which promptly turned my face beat read (much to the amusement of my mom and grandparents). The best part of the restaurant however, was when they came over and sang Happy Birthday in Engrish and gave me a strange (but good) coconut cream cake. It was fun.

After dinner I called Sarah to tell her to come over for cake and mentioned I was headed back home from dinner. She sounded kind of bummed, which confused me - then sent me a wistful text message about "expected something else" which just confused me more. I called her when I got home and to make a long story short, it had turned out she didn't understand I was going out to dinner with family that night and she had made reservations for us at an Italian restaurant. But since I had gone to dinner, and was no enroute for cake and presents she had cancelled the reservations between calls. Well, needless to say I felt terrible about it. She acted as though it wasn't a big deal, which I knew it was, and told me to call her after I had cake and presents.

I did very good this year in terms of presents - aside from the wonders of cash (woo!) I got a little mp3 player (didn't realize how useful these actually were until I had it in my hand...) and some great clothes (finally - a lacoste polo! I've wanted that little goddamn crocodile since 1999!!)

Anyway, so I call Sarah and say I'll be there to see her in 15mins or so and she says "Oh.. I thought I was coming to you.." I mention that I know she doesn't like to drive and to generally make her happy I would come to her instead. She simply says "Oh.. okay..."

I'm leaving the house, headed towards my car when I hear "Boo!" - turn around and see Sarah hiding behind my mom's car.

How sneaky.

So anyhow, we ended up going out for an Italian dinner anyway (I didn't eat at all that day in anticpation of such events..) I got another alcoholic mixed drink with this dinner, then Sarah snuck away "to go to the bathroom" - which was code for "tell the waiter it's your 21st bday..." Rather than bring me anothe piece of cake, they brought me a shot and a half of tequila and limes. So after downing that and relatively inebriated, Sarah opted to drive my car home. If I hadn't of been pleasantly tipsy I probably would have been against that (her, you know, not being insured to drive my car... *grumble*). Still, better than I driving... probably. ;)

So anyhow, in the end if was a good finale to a nice evening. I had fun with family, and with Sarah. And I'll be having more fun with Sarah and co this weekend. Just picked up a bottle of Skyy, Vermouth (for martinis ;) Bacardi Gold and a 6 pack of Skyy Blue.. with more to come. Wooooo!

I'll probably have pics next time :)

I'm also starting to accept my short hair. So that's something too. ^_^

Not that hard, really
Music: Outkast - Hey Ya
Mood: Fine

Fake Or Photo

Try it. It's fun, but pretty easy... "The Challenge Results: Excellent, a superior performance--ten out of ten answers were correct."

The bonus round's a bit more tricky... but kind of unfair, too.

Ineptitude
So, I'm 21 now.

I guess I'm supposed to feel excited. But I don't. I feel depressed and old, or worse - young. It's just serving to highlight how little I've accomplished thus far.

I also hate my new haircut. I had some crazy emotional breakdown on Saturday and opted to have all my hair cut off I've grown the last 6 months. I have to pretend I'm fine with it because people will get bored of me complaining about how much miss my hair. I would. But I don't like it, and I can't wait for it to grow back. The pre-pubescent look isn't my thing.

I went to bed at 9 last night but I didn't sleep. Nightmare after nightmare.. and I've never had nightmares before. And no, I didn't take any sleeping pills or drugs. The sleeping pills came in at 6am when I got sick of jumping up every 20 mins and needed something to keep me down for a while.

I hate this so much.
